I’ve been with Dr Bott for just over a couple of years and have been ‘over the wall’ cube buddies with Lee for most of that! What does ‘over the wall’ cube buddies mean? Well I sit on one side of a partition wall and Lee sits on the other side – just in range of an occasional tossed paper ball or a LOT of intentionally ‘inflammatory’ remarks.
Lee and I have a most wonderful problem – we are TOTALLY on the same page when it comes to our sense of humor. Scary isn’t it!!! A day hasn’t gone by when Lee and I don’t share a remark or three of the teasing variety.
For some reason Lee likes to tell me I’m OLD! Couldn’t be anything to do with the silver hair could it – that started coming in at seventeen!!!
I like to pick the dead or dying leaves from the plant hanging down at Lee’s desk and arrange them for him. He thinks I’m really weird, so I’ve succeeded in my mission!
Often I hear Lee and David making remarks, just begging me, begging me to respond… And I can’t hardly help it – so I express a thought and off we go! The banter flys back and forth while we sometimes tell each other”‘Geez, it took you long enough to come back with a comment!”
Now don’t think that Lee and myself don’t work very hard and diligently but we both like to gently tease and be teased. Our jobs are both enriched by the light-hearted banter.
Now for the serious part…one of the reasons that it so easy to have fun with Lee is that I so highly respect him. Lee’s integrity, honesty, faith, and work ethic are to admired.
Lee, you’re one of my best buds and I just love you to pieces. If ever you or Susan need anything, ANYTHING you simply have to ask and I’ll do my very best.
I’m very fortunate to have you in my life and I have to admit that I wish you’d been my dad! All the very best to you Lee.
With all the love and respect you deserve, even if you don’t deserve it ;-D
